Position Overview

This role involves significant responsibilities in the realm of fusion energy technology. The successful candidate will engage in high-level simulation and software development aimed at enhancing the design and optimization of integrated digital-physical systems, including digital twins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex scientific and engineering problems through the creation of advanced simulation and software tools in conjunction with physical experiments.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to facilitate the application of digital-physical systems in practical engineering contexts.
  • Represent the organization at global conferences and technical meetings as necessary.
  • Generate impactful contributions, including delivering presentations at prominent conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Required Qualifications:

Essential:
  • PhD in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physical sciences, or equivalent experience in a structured research setting.
  • Strong collaborative abilities with a talent for conveying intricate technical concepts clearly across various disciplines.
AND
  • Hands-on experience in computational engineering areas such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Monte Carlo methods, or computational electromagnetics.
  • Proficient in executing and managing simulations via command line using software-specific scripting languages or other scripting tools.
  • Skilled in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Matlab, Julia, R) for data analysis and visualization.
OR
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C/C++) for simulation, analysis, and visualization of scientific or engineering data.
  • Familiar with coding, testing, and documentation best practices, including version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with command line operations and familiarity with Linux/UNIX or Windows Subsystem for Linux.
