Job Title: Vetting Researcher

Red Snapper Group is seeking an experienced Vetting Researcher to join our team in Exeter, Devon. As a Vetting Researcher, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating Force, National, and other bespoke Police databases to present relevant information for vetting decisions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To know and apply the principles in the Vetting Code of Practice, APP for Vetting, and the Police Code of Ethics when researching vetting applicants and associates.
  • To make critical decisions on which information is collated for presentation to the Force Vetting Officer.
  • To conduct low-level financial interviews with new applicants in liaison with the Force Vetting Officer.
  • To make vetting decision recommendations to the Force Vetting Officer and to make vetting decisions that include low-level negative traces.
  • To provide advice to applicants and decision-makers in relation to vetting procedures while maintaining confidentiality and complying with Data Protection legislation.
Requirements:
  • Ability to evidence sound information gathering, research, and analytical skills to evaluate, verify, and analyze information and intelligence.
  • High level of competency in using information technology systems to carry out research and for the production and presentation of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact, interview, and present findings to staff at all levels.
  • High level of self-motivation and innovation to work unsupervised and proactively organize and prioritize workloads.
  • Clear understanding of the Data Protection Act and the Vetting Code of Practice/APP.
