Position Overview

We are seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor who aligns with our mission to deliver consistently exceptional care and outstanding service to our patients.

The designated unit is a 29-bed facility specializing in Vascular Surgery, providing a range of intricate and diverse treatments for vascular patients. This unit includes 6 monitored beds designated for level 2 patients following surgical procedures. As a vital member of our team, you will engage in both general ward duties and the management of monitored beds.

Our commitment is to ensure the highest standard of care for all patients.

Candidates must exhibit exemplary leadership and communication abilities on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be expected to assume the responsibilities of the ward manager in their absence.

We provide various training opportunities aimed at enhancing your leadership capabilities.

This role requires participation during weekends, public holidays, and across day and night shifts to ensure comprehensive nursing coverage.

Key Responsibilities

The role of the Clinical Nursing Supervisor necessitates the ability to assist the ward manager in guiding a well-established team of nurses in delivering high-quality care to our pre-operative and post-operative patients, with additional responsibilities including:

  • Staff allocation based on skill mix,
  • Ensuring completion of daily quality control tasks by staff,
  • Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts is essential,
  • Demonstrating strong leadership capabilities,
  • Prioritizing workload effectively,
  • Ensuring high-quality care is provided during every shift,
  • Leading by example.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Registered nurse on part 1 or part 12 of the NMC register
  • Evidence of professional development and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Ability to produce a personal professional portfolio
  • Proven knowledge of Gastroenterology and general surgery
  • Completion of a Mentorship/Preceptorship course

Desirable

  • Relevant post-registration qualification

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience at Band 5 or equivalent
