Garden Centre Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced retail professional to join our team as an Assistant Garden Centre Manager. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the garden centre, ensuring a high level of customer service and staff morale.
- Provide expert gardening advice and guidance to customers, promoting our products and services.
- Supervise and motivate staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stock control, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Ensure the garden centre is well-maintained, visually appealing, and safe for customers and staff.
- Assist in planning and executing promotional activities and events, driving sales and customer engagement.
- Monitor sales performance and contribute to achieving financial targets, working closely with the Garden Centre Manager.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively, providing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with the Garden Centre Manager to implement business strategies and improvements, driving growth and success.
- Proven experience in a retail or garden centre environment, with a strong track record of sales growth and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to provide expert gardening advice and guidance.
- Leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and motivating a team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Good organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and point of sale (POS) software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, with a willingness to work a varied schedule.
- Knowledge of plants and horticulture is preferred but not mandatory.
