Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Garden Centre Manager to join our dynamic team at MorePeople. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our garden centre, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and staff morale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the garden centre's operations, including inventory management, stock control, and visual merchandising.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and expert gardening advice to customers.
  • Supervise and motivate a team of staff, ensuring a high level of performance and morale.
  • Oversee the garden centre's maintenance, ensuring it remains well-maintained, visually appealing, and safe for customers and staff.
  • Assist in planning and executing promotional activities and events to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Monitor sales performance and contribute to achieving financial targets.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Garden Centre Manager to implement business strategies and improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail or garden centre environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in supervising and motivating a team.
  • Good organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and point of sale (POS) software.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of plants and horticulture is preferred but not mandatory.
