Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and organized Catering Services Operative to join our team at York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering food to and serving patient food to the wards areas, using ward ovens to regenerate food, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Main Duties

  • Deliver food to and serve patient food to the wards areas
  • Use ward ovens to regenerate food
  • Keep the ward kitchen clean and maintain a safe environment
  • Monitor food temperatures as part of HACCP
  • Wash up and perform other general cleaning duties
  • Work in cold rooms to pick and seal patient food and work in pot wash

Requirements

  • Good basic education including reading and writing plus basic numeric skills
  • Basic understanding or willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training including Food Hygiene Level 2
