Job Summary
Kent County Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Service. As a Social Worker in this role, you will be responsible for providing support and care to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and provide them with support and care
- Ensure the voice of the child is heard and their needs are met
- Work with children in care, manage child protection concerns, and engage in interagency working with key partners
- Develop skills in age assessments, working with children in care, and managing child protection concerns
- Participate in the National Transfer Scheme and work with other Local Authorities
- Consider family reunifications and explore the possibility of reunifying children with their families in the UK
Our Offer

- Manageable caseloads of between 15-18 cases
- Basic salary of between £32,933 and £43,592
- Annual Leave allowance of 29 days rising to 30 days after 5 years service

Requirements
- Command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements
- Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service
- Registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England
