Job Summary

Kent County Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality initial assessments and support to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments with children to determine their needs and develop a plan for their care
  • Work closely with colleagues and partners to deliver and improve services for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children
  • Develop skills and experience in age assessment practice to make proportionate and robust decisions
  • Evidence resilience and flexibility in working with a diverse cohort of children and circumstances

Our Offer

  • Competitive basic salary between £32,933 and £43,592 dependant on experience
  • Manageable caseloads of between 15-18 cases

  • Annual Leave allowance of 29 days rising to 30 days after five years service

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English/Welsh
