About the Role

C&D Foods, a leading Own Label Pet food manufacturer, is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Hygiene Lead Operative to join our team in Driffield, East Yorkshire. As a key member of our Quality Department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and review cleaning schedules to ensure compliance with BRCGS standards and customer codes of practice.
  2. Ensure cleaning schedules are completed as defined and authorized by the Hygiene Operator.
  3. Ensure cleaning records are filed and maintained for audits and visits.
  4. In liaison with external service providers, ensure the use of appropriate chemicals and cleaning methods.
  5. Maintain MSDS for all chemicals used on site.
  6. Ensure chemicals are stored safely and comply with current legislation.
  7. Work with shift managers and operators to resolve hygiene, food safety, and quality-related issues.
  8. Ensure adherence to all housekeeping standards to maintain a food-safe working environment.
  9. Ensure adherence to all quality procedures to maintain a food-safe product to manufacturing standards.
  10. Ensure the environmental monitoring program is completed to the specified schedule, trend results, and report out-of-specification results to the Quality Manager or Assistant Quality Manager.
  11. Ensure the team is competently trained and continually developed to the required standards.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in hygiene standards, food safety level 2, COSHH training, and chemical awareness. Experience of BRCGS standards and customer codes of practice is essential. Knowledge of HACCP level 2 and self-motivation with initiative to work individually or as part of a team are also required.
