About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Spiritual Care and Wellbeing team. As Head of Spiritual Care and Wellbeing, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive spiritual care strategy that meets the needs of our patients, staff, and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Spiritual Care and Wellbeing team, ensuring that high-quality spiritual care is provided to all patients, staff, and carers.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for spiritual care that is inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of our population.
  • Provide expert advice and training to staff on spirituality and chaplaincy in relation to patient care and staff support.
  • Lead research and development activity in the field of spirituality and mental health, and oversee the work of the Oxford Centre for Spirituality and Wellbeing.
  • Promote the inclusion of all service users and carers in our spiritual care services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in theology, ministry, social work, community work, or a related field.
  • Significant experience working at a senior level in health or social care chaplaincy, with expertise in mental health settings.
  • Experience of supervising and managing others at a senior level, with a strong track record of leadership and team development.
  • Expert working knowledge of beliefs and philosophies across major faith and belief traditions represented in the UK.
