About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Environment, Waste and Radiological Services capability group, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the UK nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice on environmental permitting and Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments to our UK new build clients.
- Support our clients in the Defence sector, including generation stations, decommissioning sites, and international clients operating within the industry.
- Develop and implement waste management strategies, including radioactive waste characterisation and inventory, radiological dose modelling, and radioactive contaminated land management.
- Collaborate with our team to deliver environmental and waste management documentation required to demonstrate compliance with nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in environmental permitting, BAT assessments, waste management strategy development, and radioactive waste characterisation and inventory.
- Strong understanding of the nuclear industry and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
