**Position Title:** Volunteer Independent Companion
**Commitment:** Approximately 4 hours per month
**Region:** Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole
Coram is committed to improving the lives of the UK's most at-risk children and young individuals, offering support from infancy to adulthood. As the oldest children's charity in the UK, Coram has been providing assistance to vulnerable children and youth since 1739, impacting over one million lives each year.
**Role Overview:**
- We are looking for Independent Companions (IC) to provide friendship to children in the care of local authorities. ICs act as dependable, consistent, and impartial role models, engaging actively in the child's interests and life.
- By forming a friendship with the child, sharing interests, and participating in activities together, ICs play a crucial role in enhancing a young person's confidence, self-worth, and future opportunities.
- Activities may include a variety of recreational outings tailored to the child's age and preferences, ranging from sports to local attractions.
