**Position Title:** Volunteer Companion for Vulnerable Youth

**Commitment:** Around 4 hours monthly

Coram is committed to improving the lives of the most at-risk children and young individuals in the UK, providing assistance from early childhood through to independence. As the oldest children's charity in the UK, Coram has been supporting vulnerable children and young people since 1739, positively impacting over one million lives each year.

**Role Overview:**

  • We are looking for Volunteer Companions to provide friendship and support to children in the care of local authorities. These companions act as dependable, consistent, and independent figures, actively participating in the child's interests and daily life.
  • By forming a friendship with the child, sharing activities, and engaging in various pastimes together, Volunteer Companions play a crucial role in enhancing a young person's confidence, self-worth, and future opportunities.
  • Activities may include a range of enjoyable outings tailored to the child's age and interests, from bowling to visiting local attractions.
