About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Housing Options Officer to join our team at Spencer Clarke Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the Council's housing duty to individuals applying for housing, ensuring that they receive the support they need to secure a stable and safe living environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess applications for housing and make decisions on eligibility, housing need, and support
  • Provide specialist advice on housing options and homeless prevention initiatives
  • Manage a caseload and develop support plans for vulnerable clients
  • Participate in the Housing Options Duty Rota and provide excellent customer service

Requirements:

  • Experience of providing professional advice to individuals in housing need or a relevant sector
  • Experience of working with vulnerable clients, including those with mental health issues, domestic abuse, or substance misuse
  • Ability to manage a caseload and develop support plans
  • Knowledge of adult safeguarding, child protection, and domestic abuse
