About the Role

The Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our Community Team. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of interventions and support activities to enable recovery in service users accessing the Community Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of clinical interventions to service users and their carers, including individual and group work in local communities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members and service providers to support service users.
  • Assess client responses to activities and amend programmes of activity as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, including those with barriers to understanding or presenting challenging behavior.
  • Ensure all written and electronic work is accurate and up-to-date, in accordance with professional and Trust standards.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and maintain up-to-date knowledge of national guidelines, standards, legislation, and professional developments.
  • Implement and adhere to Trust policies and procedures within the area of practice.

Person Specification

  • Relevant experience in occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and service providers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess client responses and amend programmes of activity as necessary.
  • Knowledge of national guidelines, standards, legislation, and professional developments in occupational therapy.
