This role presents a unique opportunity to oversee and guide our Complex Safeguarding unit within Trafford's Children's Social Services.

We are seeking a dedicated Social Care Practice Supervisor who is passionate about transcending conventional social service objectives and is committed to empowering a team of social workers and practitioners. In this position, you will foster and implement innovative strategies to engage with young individuals at risk of external harm, as well as their families and support networks.

Trafford acknowledges that complex safeguarding is essential for understanding and addressing the experiences of young people facing external threats. Our Complex Safeguarding service was initiated in 2019 and operates within the Children's Services framework, specifically under the Vulnerable Adolescent Service.

Our service comprises two specialized teams:

· The SHINE team, dedicated to assisting young individuals who are either confirmed victims of exploitation or are at risk of such exploitation.

· The Missing from Home team, which actively works to reconnect with young people who have been absent from their homes.

Both the SHINE and Missing from Home teams collaborate closely with Trafford's specialized Police Complex Safeguarding unit. Additionally, our service includes a dedicated nurse and a trusted relationship psychologist, both integral to our operations.

About the Role

As a Social Care Practice Supervisor, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. You will take the lead in team management, making informed decisions and providing guidance to continuously enhance the quality of life outcomes for children and young people.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring effective care planning for all children, with regular reviews conducted within the necessary timeframes. You will also oversee financial and budgetary considerations.

To excel in this role, you should possess:
· A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in social work.
· At least 2 years of experience in providing professional supervision or line management in accordance with council policies.
· Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and frameworks pertaining to children.

Additional Information

This position may require occasional work outside of standard hours, including weekends, and travel may be necessary.
