Position Overview

Financial Operations Manager

Location: Hybrid role

Compensation: Up to £48k, depending on experience + Benefits

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee all financial operations and provide strategic insights to senior management.

Your Role Includes:

  • Leading and mentoring the finance team to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
  • Managing month-end processes, including the preparation of schedules, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Conducting financial reporting and analysis, providing detailed insights and variance analysis.
  • Overseeing cash flow management and creditor payments to maintain financial health.
  • Supervising fixed asset management and inventory control to protect company resources.
  • Administering payroll processes and overseeing weekly payroll activities, including credit control oversight.
  • Managing financial processing tasks, including sales and purchase ledgers, as well as expense management.
  • Supporting budget management across the organization, collaborating with various departments.
  • Providing operational support through costing and margin analysis.
  • Enhancing commercial and financial acumen across the organization to improve decision-making and profitability.

Candidate Profile:

We seek a candidate with a unique combination of professional skills and experience to lead a motivated team.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ICAS qualified or a commitment to obtaining this qualification.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A keen interest in understanding business challenges and the ability to communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative spirit.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior leaders, peers, and team members across all levels.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently while leading an engaged finance team.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) preferred; part-qualified candidates will be considered.
  • Experience in management or supervisory roles.
  • Familiarity with Sage 50 (or similar software).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
