Position Overview

We are looking for empathetic individuals with strong emotional intelligence and a commitment to person-centred care for the fulfilling role of Recovery Support Worker. In this position, you will assist individuals facing mental health challenges and other needs within a newly established supported living environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the personal recovery journeys of service users, helping them achieve their mental health and wellbeing goals.
  • Support individuals in transitioning to their new residences and foster their independence in managing their living situations.
  • Provide both psychological and practical assistance to enhance self-esteem and confidence among service users.
  • Empower individuals to make informed decisions and cultivate meaningful relationships within the community.
  • Collaborate effectively with the individual's support network, including family members and healthcare professionals.

Essential Skills

To excel in this role, you must be adept at building trusting relationships grounded in respect and positive regard. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to engage with external organizations confidently. You should demonstrate reliability and accountability in your work, fulfilling the responsibilities of a Key Worker, including conducting needs assessments and developing tailored support plans.

Understanding of Mental Health

A comprehensive understanding of mental health issues and the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced trauma is crucial. You should be dedicated to promoting equality and practicing inclusively and non-judgmentally. Relevant experience is a prerequisite for this position.

Work Environment

Your primary workplace will be a supported living service featuring well-designed, self-contained apartments, complemented by communal areas and on-site staff facilities.
