Job Title: Head of Property

The Head of Property is a key role within the Diocese of Canterbury, responsible for leading the strategic management of the Diocese's assets, including property development, investment, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of the Diocese's housing and Glebe estate, ensuring good quality clergy accommodation and maximizing income and capital returns.
  • Manage the Property Services Team, responsible for maintenance and improvements of clergy and other housing within the Diocese.
  • Develop and implement strategies for property development, investment, and disposal, ensuring alignment with the Diocese's Net Zero Carbon Action Plan.
  • Provide high-level advice to parishes on property matters, including decision-making regarding their buildings and assets.
  • Represent the Diocese's interests in property-related matters, working closely with parishes, PCCs, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • MRICS qualified or equivalent experience in property management, asset management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience, including strategic property development and resource planning.
  • Experience of managing budgets, exercising financial controls, and procuring contractors for property-related projects.
  • Knowledge of property law and planning regulations.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the Diocese and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
