About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Property Services Team, overseeing the management of all clergy and other housing within the Diocese. As Head of Property, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and improvements are performed within agreed timeframes and budgets, providing an excellent and friendly service to clergy and their households.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Property Services Team, ensuring effective delivery of property-related projects and services
  • Oversee the management of the Diocese's housing and Glebe estate, ensuring good quality clergy accommodation through strategic maintenance and planned enhancements
  • Work with the Diocesan Secretary and other stakeholders to develop and implement property strategies, maximizing income and capital returns from assets
  • Represent the Diocese's interests in property matters, advising parishes and protecting their interests in decision-making regarding their buildings
  • Manage the property budget, taking part in budget reviews and budget setting in partnership with the Director of Finance and Finance & Assets Committee
Requirements
  • MRICS qualified with experience of working in the property sector, ideally as a surveyor or with experience in asset management, residential property management, and landlord and tenant relations
  • Proven leadership experience, including strategic property development and resource planning
  • Knowledge of driving maximum return from property and/or land assets, including experience of property disposals and purchases
  • Understanding of Property Law and experience in planning, managing, and reviewing substantial budgets and exercising strict financial controls in a property environment
