The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Transport Coordinator/Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a healthy sub-contractor pool that meets business delivery demands while keeping costs to a minimum. This will involve ensuring a strong rapport with each sub-contractor through both verbal and electronic communications to achieve maximum customer service. The Transport Coordinator/Analyst will also be responsible for generating detailed reports to help identify improvement areas within the transport functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Minimum of 1 year's experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment
  2. Numerate - Ability to work with numerical data
  3. Highly competent with PC literate - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Transport IT/web-based systems
  4. Excellent customer service and administration skills
  5. Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  6. Be flexible in your approach to work and hours
  7. Good UK Graphical Knowledge
  8. Reliable in approach to work and adaptable to fit into different teams and environments
  9. Professional in appearance and manner
  10. Adaptable to change and a strong team player

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Ensure all requests for Customer orders are processed in a timely manner and are updated in the systems with all relevant details
  2. Maintenance of a strong Sub-Contractor list throughout the year, with a minimum percentage of KTL loads covered
  3. Ensure all transport Analytical reports are completed in a timely manner

Requirements:

  1. Effective and efficient planning of Sub-Contractor activity throughout the year
  2. Strong and clear communication of the Customers' requirements to the Sub-Contractor both verbally and in writing
  3. Promptly answering enquiries over the telephone in a professional manner and via email where necessary
  4. Speaking to the third party and customers to understand any concerns or with any delivery or planning activities
  5. Working with the customer to understand their short and long term forecasts
  6. Entry of all jobs onto the relevant PC and web-based systems
  7. Reporting any concerns to the Customer Services team
  8. Working in tandem with other departments such as Warehouse/Transport to understand the sub-contractor requirements
  9. Raising any concerns over delivery with other internal teams and providing solutions for resolution
  10. Investigating and solving pre and post departure customer escalations
  11. Attend customer meetings on a planned and Ad-Hoc basis to maintain good levels of communication
  12. Plan and communicate effective handovers during absence to ensure that there is a clear plan and line of communication/reporting should any questions arise
  13. Maintain and improve agreed Analytical reports to help identify areas within the transport function that could be more efficient
