General Horticultural Nursery Worker

At Chapel Cottage Plants, we have always believed in producing the highest quality perennials for our customers, no matter what their size. Our customers and the products we supply are always our main priority and building on this mentality has allowed us to build up our very large customer portfolio from independent garden centre's along with a number of the UK's larger garden retail chains and multiple stores.
We currently have a vacancy within the nursery for an outgoing and enthusiastic person to join our team as a General Horticultural Nursery Worker.
**Horticultural Worker duties**
- Reporting to the Nursery Supervisor,
- Day-to-day tasks may vary depending on the time of year but will always include tasks such as taking care of plants - watering, weeding, and pruning, spraying, picking, sorting and loading plants for delivery, general roles involved around the nursery.
- Moving plants and equipment around the nursery, maintenance and unloading and loading deliveries.
- You are required to bend, pull, push, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
- Prepare beds, transfer plants to containers, move container plants around the nursery, and unload shipments of packaged soil and other gardening products.
- Transplant / pick plants, ready for dispatch out to our customers.
- Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Applicants need to have the ability to work in all weathers, have a positive can-do attitude and a good level of fitness. A driving license is preferable as we are not on a direct bus route
- Some areas of the role require standing for long periods, cleaning and preparing plants for dispatch
No previous experience is needed however; you must be hardworking, reliable and ready to learn new skills.
**Hours** 7.30 am -4.00pm Monday to Thursday.7:30am-3.00pm Friday Overtime and weekend working when required during peak season (Typically March - May)

**Job Type**: Part time seasonal - Start from around Early February until approx. August. Possibility of Full -time work. - previous applicants need not apply. The position is a 39hr week with the opportunity for overtime during busy periods.
**Rate of pay**: £11.44 per Hour.
**Location** - Wimblington, Cambs, PE15
