Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to work with various SEN Schools across Leyland and Chorley.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and adaptable individual to provide academic support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to ensure the students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher in lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Support pupils with engagement and encourage participation in class activities, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEN.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of SEN and its impact on students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning theories.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
