Job Description

Job Title: Chief Technologist - Defence Engineering Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Technologist to lead our Defence Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engineering and technical best practice and process across the defence business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to the Defence Engineering team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to streamline engineering processes and improve efficiency.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their technical requirements and providing solutions that meet their needs.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the Defence Operating Unit's strategic plan, ensuring that engineering and technical capabilities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including Business Development, Capture, and Proposal development, to ensure that engineering and technical capabilities are integrated into business strategies.
  • Communication: Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that they understand the implications of engineering and technical decisions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 10 years' experience in the technology industry, with deep engineering experience.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills, with expertise in engineering and technical best practice.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
