Job Description

Y Royalties is a leading provider of royalty data, rights management, audit, and transaction services. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Royalties Accountant.

As a Royalties Accountant, you will play a key role in assisting in the preparation of royalty accounting statements, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and analyzing substantial royalty data. You will also be responsible for maintaining the CCY Portal/Website and providing data to the finance teams to enable them to reconcile balances held on the balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editing sales data to be uploaded in Counterpoint royalty and Curve systems for the preparation of third-party accounting.
  • Assisting in the preparation of royalty accounting statements across the distribution business on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis.
  • Reconciling and timely clearing of various balance sheet accounts holding royalty-related balances.
  • Analyzing and condensing substantial royalty data received from Recording and Publishing labels and Digital platforms into concise summaries.
  • Preparing journals to process direct royalty income on a by-title basis across the business.
  • Maintaining royalties receivable tracker – chasing outstanding reports as and when necessary.
  • Providing adequate data to the finance teams to enable them to reconcile balances held on the balance sheet.
  • Maintaining the CCY Portal/Website.

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role or newly qualified.
  • Subject to entry level/stage of qualification.
  • Excel.
  • General knowledge of the Counterpoint and Curve royalty systems a bonus.

Knowledge and Attitudes and Behaviours Required

A team player with a willingness to learn.

  • A knowledge of music royalties, publishing, and recording income is a bonus.
