Job Title: Band 5 Children's Community Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 5 Children's Community Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and delivering high-quality clinical research studies within the Women's and Children's Research Unit.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support Principal Investigators in the setup and delivery of clinical trials and non-interventional NIHR portfolio trials.
  • Work collaboratively with the W&C research unit to ensure the safe conduct of all research, including clinical trials, in accordance with regulatory and legal frameworks.
  • Provide education and training to clinical staff on the specifics of running clinical trials.
  • Support trials across all ward areas of the Children's Hospital and in the community setting.
Requirements:
  • Registered Children's Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing, Science, or Health-related discipline.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Evidence of good teamwork skills.
  • Broad range of clinical nursing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
  • Good report writing and attention to detail.
  • Budgetary and resource management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for embedding research within clinical practice.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within an acute hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal frameworks related to undertaking clinical research.
  • Clinical, organizational, and management experience.
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1984 and Caldicott principles.
