Keswick, Cumbria, United Kingdom North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

INTERNAL OPPORTUNITY FOR NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST EMPLOYEES ONLY

Role: Patient Care Support Specialist

Shift Patterns: Including night shifts (12-hour day and night shifts, working 24 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has emerged at Keswick Hospital, part of the Keswick and Solway Integrated Care Community, for Patient Care Support Specialists to join our dedicated nursing team on the ward.

Keswick is located within the stunning Lake District National Park, a popular destination for visitors. The vibrant market town is bustling with shops, eateries, and is positioned near Derwent Water, at the gateway to the picturesque Borrowdale Valley.

We are seeking dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic Patient Care Support Specialists to collaborate with our committed nursing team. The ward accommodates 16 patients, providing care for individuals transitioning from home or those stepping down from two acute hospital sites within the Trust. Our focus is on rehabilitation and End of Life Care.

Main Responsibilities

- Deliver direct patient care
- Assist and promote patient independence in personal hygiene and dressing
- Support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals
- Aid with nutritional needs for patients nearing the end of life
- Conduct observations and document them in the appropriate systems

The ideal candidate should possess a care certificate relevant to this position; however, this is not essential for the right individual. Comprehensive training pertinent to this role will be provided by the Trust and your new colleagues on the ward. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability in a changing environment and possess strong communication skills. You will receive support from the registered staff on duty. The role involves delivering nursing care across a 24-hour period, including weekends and public holidays.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic Patient Care Support Specialist to join our dedicated nursing team. The ward has 16 beds, and we care for patients directly from home or those transitioning from the two acute hospital sites within the Trust. Our specialty lies in rehabilitation and End of Life Care.
