Supply Chain Operations Specialist

In this position, you will oversee and manage the company's procurement, inventory control, and logistics operations. The inventory management component focuses on ensuring the supply, storage, and accessibility of materials to maintain optimal stock levels without overstocking. The logistics aspect encompasses the seamless integration of information, transportation, material handling, and packaging from the point of origin to the point of consumption, ensuring we meet our customers' needs effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive work ethic and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

General Performance & Delivery

  1. Engage in placing orders with suppliers based on forecasts, stock levels, and input from the scheduling team, while ensuring timely delivery and resolving any supplier-related issues.
  2. Manage customer expectations to align with established service levels.

Inventory Management

  1. Maintain ongoing communication with key internal departments.
  2. Collect and present accurate data regarding inventory levels, providing clear visibility to the organization.
  3. Proactively manage component replenishment lead times within established KPIs, ensuring minimum stock levels and supplier availability.
  4. Oversee the returns and defective goods processes.
  5. Assist in the replenishment of emergency kits.
  6. Support the management of obsolete and non-moving stock.
  7. Contribute to the management and maintenance of company assets, including tools and specialized equipment.
  8. Understand and anticipate storage space requirements for inventory.
  9. Ensure adherence to quality management practices.
  10. Comply with environmental regulations.

The successful balancing of these responsibilities will contribute to optimal inventory levels, adapting to the evolving needs of the business.

Logistics Coordination

  1. Manage the timely return of emergency kits.
  2. Oversee reverse logistics processes for non-emergency kit inventory.
  3. Monitor logistics partners and solutions, focusing on performance and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Collaborate with the Service Supply Chain Supervisor to evaluate current courier solutions.
  5. Coordinate the loan and return of internal specialized equipment to customers.
  6. Manage the sending and return of internal tools for engineers.

Procurement Activities

  1. Issue purchase orders promptly, updating the system as necessary.
  2. Assist in cost reduction initiatives related to process improvements and materials, tracking raw material costs and market trends.
  3. Support reporting on supplier performance based on business criteria.
  4. Contribute to the development of internal systems and procedures related to material requirements planning, stock control, and forecasting.
  5. Assist in implementing a procurement strategy for legacy products.
  6. May also involve managing rebate controls.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

  1. Assist in vetting and approving suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  2. Work towards minimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, and preventing major environmental incidents.
  3. Promote awareness of the management system and its operational elements, including health, safety, and environmental management.

Reporting Responsibilities

  1. Support the National Service Supply Chain Supervisor with reporting needs.
  2. Ensure compliance with all QHSE requirements.
  3. All KPIs and reports will be established in collaboration with you.

Interactions:

Engage with customers, schedulers, the National Service Supply Chain Supervisor, regional operations teams, key accounts, technical support staff, service contract sales, product operations, subcontract service providers, and suppliers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Experience in inventory, warehouse, or logistics roles.
  2. Understanding of basic planning, forecasting, and stock projection principles.
  3. Familiarity with warehouse and logistics processes and procedures.
  4. Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  6. Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  7. Commercially savvy with strong negotiation skills.
  8. Able to interface successfully with various departments and personnel in potentially high-pressure situations.
