Job Title: SEND Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to neurodiverse young adults.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning, particularly with a focus on pathways to adulthood and pastoral support.
  • Monitor and record progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes.
  • Work closely with learners to keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
  • Provide inspirational learning opportunities to learners, whether in the classroom or out in the community.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to direct them in effectively supporting learners.
  • Develop a curriculum bespoke to each individual learner, being adaptable in your teaching style to meet their unique needs.
  • Recognize when a learner's progress is at risk and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Patience, compassion, and resilience when working with neurodiverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with learners, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute to EHCPs and shape a curriculum based on individual target outcomes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing circumstances.
  • A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs.
