At Phoenix Learning & Care Group, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our team. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to neurodiverse young adults.
About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and experienced SEND Teacher who can deliver a bespoke curriculum to meet the individual needs of our learners. You will be responsible for leading classroom activities, planning and assessing learning, and working closely with learners to ensure they reach their full potential.
As a SEND Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with a small class size, typically between 5-7 learners, and develop strong relationships with each individual. You will also be part of a collaborative team that provides comprehensive support and resources to ensure the success of our learners.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a tailored curriculum to meet the needs of neurodiverse learners
- Lead classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning
- Work closely with learners to monitor progress and provide individualized support
- Collaborate with the Learning Support Assistants to direct them in effectively supporting learners
- Be adaptable in your teaching style to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Patience, compassion, and resilience when working with neurodiverse learners
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with learners, parents, and other stakeholders
- Ability to be involved in EHCPs and shape a curriculum based on individual target outcomes
- Flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing circumstances
- Genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs
- Holidays: 42.4 weeks of the year during term time, with paid annual leave for the remaining 9.6 weeks
