Lead Care Facilitator - Overview:
At The Meath Epilepsy Charity, our residents are central to our mission. Through personalized planning, we ensure that each individual is empowered to pursue their aspirations and maintain their autonomy.
We seek collaborative individuals with strong communication abilities who are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support while adhering to safety protocols in accordance with organizational guidelines.
Previous experience in care services is required, and comprehensive training will be provided. This is a full-time role (38 hours per week).Lead Care Facilitator - Key Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct care tailored to each resident's assessed requirements as outlined in their care plan.
- Assisting management in overseeing the team and organizing operations in their absence.
- Supervising and mentoring support staff and temporary personnel, including conducting performance reviews and training as necessary.
- Supporting senior staff and aiding in the execution of management directives.
- Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Assisting residents with personal care as needed.
- Managing the administration and storage of prescribed medications in compliance with regulations.
- Aiding residents with mobility assistance when appropriate.
- Supporting residents with their nutritional needs during meal times.
- Ensuring residents receive a balanced diet.
- Communicating relevant updates about residents to team members to ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted based on observed changes in their health status.
- Promptly reporting any incidents or accidents involving residents, staff, or visitors to senior personnel.
- Being knowledgeable about and following safeguarding protocols in the event of any allegations of abuse.
- Following medication handling procedures, including consulting with senior staff for administering as-needed medications.
- Participating in regular supervision meetings with your line manager every six weeks.
- Carrying out reasonable instructions from your line manager or senior management as required.
- Performing any other reasonable tasks as needed.
- Familiarizing yourself with and implementing organizational policies and procedures. The responsibilities listed above do not encompass all tasks expected of the role; additional duties may be assigned as necessary for effective job performance.
Lead Care Facilitator - Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
Effective communication with the public, trustees, and professional entities on behalf of The Meath, both in writing and verbally, is essential, along with a solid understanding of software applications such as Word and Excel.
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated accountability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Willingness to engage in relevant training to uphold high operational and safety standards
- Commitment to confidentiality regarding all matters at The Meath.
Desirable Qualifications:
Familiarity with CQC standards and possession of a relevant Health and Social Care qualification, or a willingness to pursue such a qualification. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is preferred, along with two years of supervisory experience in care.
