Job Summary:

We are seeking an Apprentice Security Analyst to join our team at BAE Systems (New). As a key member of our Governance and Assurance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of our protective security position for Maritime and Land lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Governance & Assurance to produce an overview of the protective security position for Maritime and Land lines of business.
  • Develop and maintain processes and tooling to bring this overview together, including management and maintenance of our Sector Security materials and toolsets such as SharePoint and Atlassian.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to support the team's efforts.
  • Support the development of governance material and report creation/writing.
  • Interact and communicate with different levels of seniority and across functions.
  • Manage activities and their progression, either through project management or coordination roles.

Requirements:

  • Ability to use data and tools to extrapolate findings.
  • Knowledge of producing governance material and report creation/writing.
  • Experience of interacting and communicating with different levels of seniority and across functions.
  • Confident and articulate individual who can support our Maritime and Land Lines of Business with issues they have surrounding their assurance position and toolset use.
  • Experience of managing activities and their progression, either through project management or coordination roles.
  • Ability to work unsupervised at times, dealing with sensitive and time critical work.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using the Atlassian toolsets, primarily Jira for task management.
  • Knowledge of MOD or other UK government security standards, such as DEFSTAN 05-138, IPSA and FSC.
  • Experience in conducting audit and/or assurance activities.
