Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Land Acquisition Specialist to identify, negotiate, and secure residential development prospects for new high-quality housing aimed at both outright sale and affordable tenures. This position involves managing the development process up to the point of site initiation, ensuring all requisite planning and legal approvals are obtained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify new land opportunities that align with Orbit's growth strategy and financial objectives, focusing on land-led, mixed tenure sites, with or without planning permissions.
  • Engage with Local Authority Partners and Homes England to negotiate and optimize available funding and public asset opportunities.
  • Conduct initial financial assessments of sites, modeling various scenarios while considering planning and technical factors to ensure alignment with business plans and investment criteria.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding and experience in the land acquisition and planning processes within the private and/or Registered Social Landlord (RSL) sectors.
  • Exhibit proficiency in evaluating land opportunities and generating comprehensive financial analyses.
  • Be prepared to travel as necessary.
  • Possess prior experience working with a House Builder or Housing Association.
