Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist nursing support, advice, education, and care to patients with vascular conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of vascular patients and provide specialist nursing support, advice, education, and care.
  • Assess patient needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care, and set standards of care.
  • Take a lead role in establishing evidence-based practice within the West Yorkshire Vascular Service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure services meet the needs of the population.
  • Develop and implement vascular patient care pathways to improve and facilitate seamless delivery of care.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Experience of assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care for patients/service users/staff.
    • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and across organizational and professional boundaries.
    • Experience of leading clinical audit/research and using outcome measures.
    • Experience of leading and managing change.
  • Qualifications:
    • Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for children's areas (Level 1 or 2).
    • Recognized teaching/assessing qualification.
    • Evidence of continued professional development.
    • Significant post-registration experience, including experience of working in the vascular clinical specialty.
  • Skills & Behaviours:
    • Essential:
      • Analytical & judgemental Skills, Communication & Relationship Skills, Physical Skills.
      • Report writing/Presentation skills.
      • Computer literate ability to use Word/Excel/Powerpoint, etc.
