Position Overview
The Manager of Market Access and Strategic Alliances will report directly to the Senior Director of International Strategic Alliances and Market Access. This role is pivotal in overseeing operations, processes, and initiatives related to international strategic partnerships and distributor markets, as well as the International Market Access and Pricing (IMAP) team. The primary objective is to ensure swift, comprehensive, and sustained access for patients to Mallinckrodt's current and future therapeutic solutions, driven by a profound understanding of the needs of payers, healthcare professionals, and patients.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships and Distributor Markets
Operations Management: Develop, implement, and enhance governance frameworks for strategic partnerships across various organizations and functions, which includes:
- Contract oversight
- Regular meetings and business evaluations (both internal and external)
- Management of pricing and credit terms
- Coordination of supply chain activities
Process Management: Design, implement, and refine essential processes for strategic partnerships and distributor markets across different organizations and functions, which encompasses:
- Assessment of opportunities and partners, including due diligence
- Financial and demand forecasting
- Budget oversight
- Warranty and post-sales process management
- Training for distributor sales teams
Project Management: Lead a cross-functional team of experts to execute projects and initiatives for international distributor markets, focusing on regions such as North-East Asia and Latin America, which includes:
- Product registration and launch activities
- Expansion of labeling and reimbursement
- International Market Access and Pricing initiatives
Process Execution: Collaborate with IMAP, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to carry out critical market access processes, including:
- IMAP governance: Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure to monitor performance against IMAP goals and facilitate team meetings, which includes:
- Ownership of IMAP SharePoint
- Management of SmartSheet project tracking and reporting
- Leadership in annual business planning and workshop support
- Treatment context mapping: Ensure that information and data reflecting the market access landscape across various indications are current and available for decision-making, including:
- Models for market potential and disease burden
- Mapping of access decisions and requirements
- Options for access mapping
- Development of value messages and communication channels: Transform the distinct clinical, economic, and humanistic value of therapeutic assets into targeted messaging and manage dissemination across various platforms.
- Development of IMAP tools: Create, maintain, and manage the internal approval process for tools designed to engage with payers, healthcare professionals, and support customer-facing teams, including:
- Value propositions for payers
- Health Technology Assessment (HTA) dossiers
- Budget impact models
Project Management: Oversee a cross-functional team of subject matter experts to implement projects and initiatives for IMAP across international markets, which includes:
- Reimbursement initiatives
- Development of necessary tools and infrastructure
- Strategic projects as required (e.g., commercial advisory boards, early payer consultations, etc.)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial operations and projects within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device sectors; experience with strategic alliances and/or distributors is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a regional or national market access or commercial role, with exposure to market access projects in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
- Experience supporting launches in rare diseases and/or specialty pharmaceuticals is strongly preferred.
Competencies:
- Ability to lead teams without direct authority.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to operate within a regional, cross-functional, matrix organization.
- Proficient in MS Office, SmartSheet, and other commonly used productivity tools.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in an additional major European language and/or Chinese preferred.
Organizational Relationships:
This position reports to the Senior Director of International Strategic Alliances and Market Access.
Working Conditions:
This role offers the flexibility to be based remotely or in a designated office location, with occasional travel required within Europe and internationally.
