This position is within a prominent contemporary retail organization with a significant presence in the market, focusing on the management of all personnel across the UK and Ireland, including both retail locations and corporate offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Head of HR (located in Germany), this role functions as a standalone HR Operations Manager in the UK, with potential for future team expansion and leadership opportunities.
  • Overseeing the complete employee life cycle for both retail and corporate staff, which encompasses onboarding, performance evaluations, and offboarding processes.
  • Payroll and personnel administration: Administering payroll data for the UK and Ireland in collaboration with an external payroll provider.
  • Managing employee benefits in the UK and collaborating with the global headquarters to design comprehensive employee benefit packages.
  • Employee Relations: Providing disciplinary support to management by anticipating and resolving conflicts, while adhering to established disciplinary protocols.
  • Recruitment: Proactively identifying staffing needs for retail locations and implementing the recruitment strategy.
  • Training: Developing and executing retail training initiatives in conjunction with the retail management team, including defining themes and budgets.
  • Talent assessment and management: Conducting regular professional interviews to understand employee aspirations and align them with organizational needs, while advising on employability and mobility.
  • Promoting and integrating equality and diversity initiatives to cultivate an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Project work: Collaborating with the European HR team on initiatives such as the implementation of Workday and the alignment of HR processes on a global scale.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a comparable role.
  • A proven history of HR expertise within the retail or hospitality sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, standalone HR environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Workday is advantageous, though not mandatory.

This role is based in a central location, with a preference for in-office presence four days a week, though additional flexibility may be considered.
