Financial Assistant for Manufacturing Operations

SF Recruitment is currently collaborating with a leading manufacturing firm to find a dedicated Assistant Accountant. This position will provide essential support to the Financial Controller in managing the daily operations of the Finance department.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is keen to enhance the financial performance of a vibrant manufacturing business.

This role presents an excellent opportunity to acquire valuable experience within a manufacturing context while working alongside an experienced Financial Controller who is committed to sharing their industry insights and expertise.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts and facilitate the year-end audit process.
  • Oversee weekly production reporting, ensuring precision in tracking sales and production costs.
  • Manage prepayments, accruals, and the posting of relevant journals.
  • Conduct reconciliations of Balance Sheet control accounts.
  • Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations for multiple currency accounts (GBP, Euro, and USD).
  • Ensure the accurate maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers, promptly addressing any outstanding issues or queries.
  • Efficiently manage supplier debit and credit notes.
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset Registers, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and depreciated.
  • Assist with Physical Stock Takes, coordinating with production and inventory teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payments to employees.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and review financial information to provide insights into cost control and efficiency improvements within manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with special projects and system implementations as required by the Head of Finance.


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Actively pursuing a relevant financial qualification.
