SF Recruitment is collaborating with a leading manufacturing firm to find a dedicated Assistant Accountant. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Financial Controller with the daily operations of the Finance department.

We are looking for a motivated and meticulous individual who is keen to enhance the financial stability of a vibrant manufacturing business.

This role presents an excellent chance to acquire significant experience within a manufacturing setting while working alongside an experienced Financial Controller who is committed to imparting valuable industry insights.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation of Management Accounts and support the year-end audit activities.
  • Oversee weekly production reporting, ensuring precision in tracking sales and production costs.
  • Manage prepayments, accruals, and the posting of pertinent journals.
  • Conduct reconciliations of Balance Sheet control accounts.
  • Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations for various currency accounts (GBP, Euro, and USD).
  • Ensure the accurate upkeep of sales and purchase ledgers, promptly resolving any outstanding issues or inquiries.
  • Efficiently manage supplier debit and credit notes.
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset Registers, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and depreciated.
  • Assist with Physical Stock Takes, collaborating with production and inventory teams to ensure precise reporting.
  • Support payroll processing and guarantee timely and accurate employee payments.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and review financial data to provide insights into cost control and efficiency enhancements within manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with special projects and system implementations as directed by the Head of Finance.


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a comparable role.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Actively pursuing a relevant financial qualification.
