Position Overview:
The firm seeks an accomplished Senior Chartered Structural Engineer with substantial experience in structural analysis, design, and project oversight.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of managing intricate structural engineering projects from concept to completion, showcasing strong technical expertise and leadership abilities.
As a vital member of the team, the Senior Chartered Structural Engineer will be instrumental in steering design initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of projects to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Leading the structural design and analysis of a variety of projects, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards.
2. Offering technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers, facilitating their professional growth and development.
3. Collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to devise innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
4. Effectively managing project budgets, timelines, and resources to guarantee timely project delivery within scope.
5. Conducting site evaluations and inspections to assess structural integrity and provide recommendations for necessary remedial actions.
6. Representing the firm at client meetings, design reviews, and industry events, demonstrating expertise and capabilities.
Requirements:
1. Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or equivalent recognition.
2. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
3. Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, focusing on the design and analysis of building structures.
5. Strong comprehension of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards).
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
7. Proven success in delivering complex structural engineering projects on time and within budget.
8. Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
