About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our engineering team in London. As a key member of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group, you will be responsible for managing and delivering high-value projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead an engineering cost centre(s) for our London office, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and delegated to team members.
  • Utilize the latest design software to create and manage structural designs, collaborating with key clients and stakeholders to discuss design/technical solutions.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources, implementing Company policies and ensuring adherence across your team.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS's services, assisting in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials, providing support and guidance to junior staff.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
