Job Title: New Product Introduction Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced New Product Introduction Engineer to join our team at Goodfish Group. As a key member of our Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) Division, you will play a critical role in planning and executing processes that help us develop, refine, and bring new products to market for our customers.

This is a Group-wide role responsible for continuously improving the NPI process for the Group, enabling the coordination of the process of introducing new customer tools into our facilities, working with our Operations, Quality, Technical, and Commercial teams.

You will have an understanding of the various quality controls and procedures involved in the automotive world, as well as the ability to project manage the job through a number of technical and QA stages to SOP.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to make their mark as part of our growing NPI team. It requires a proactive approach, an eagerness to learn, and a willingness to apply the latest technologies in order to achieve business transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the activities of multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver new products using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) approach.
  • Ensuring that standardized NPI processes and policies are drawn up, approved, regularly reviewed, visible, and implemented by those involved.
  • Facilitating risk management activities in a concurrent engineering environment.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers throughout the product life cycle.
  • Value engineering and design for manufacture.
  • Managing prototype and pre-production manufacturing builds in-house.
  • Maintaining project budgets, schedules, and product costing files.
  • Disciplined problem-solving and continuous productivity improvement, using lean methodologies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project plans.
  • Leading on PPAP activity.
Personal Specification:
  • Ability to prioritize and manage your own time will be key to the success of this role.
  • Relevant production/engineering degree (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Has received training and experience in project management, preferably using APQP.
  • PPAP trained with the ability to lead and complete the process.
  • Significant project management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive (certified under ISO/IATF).
  • A plastics injection background would be an advantage.
  • Lean manufacturing skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • A team player with a conscientious attitude to work and exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate people in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Focused, target-driven with a positive, can-do attitude and ability to plan ahead.
Hours:

You will be employed to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with a half-hour unpaid break). You will be expected to take a flexible approach to dedicating the hours needed to ensure business transformation at Goodfish Group.
