Ricardo's Performance Products division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Manufacturing to lead our high precision machine shop and assembly teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, on-time delivery, and costs of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a large team of machine and assembly technicians, inspection, manufacturing engineers, programmers, and production control.
- Direct reports include Production Managers for Machining and Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Production Control Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
- Lead a strong technical team to improve performance in all areas of the business, while planning for the future introduction of new equipment and business processes/systems.
- Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and other Ricardo sites, but primarily the role is internally focused on improving the performance of the business.
- Demonstrable track record of leading large, skilled manufacturing teams to improve overall business performance.
- Strong people management skills to communicate and motivate team members.
- Experience in planning and organizing, with the ability to implement new processes and tools.
- Strong understanding of business KPIs and improving performance in all areas.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
- Communication and motivating teams.
- Knowledge of machine shop processes.
- Organizing large teams.
- Use of tools and systems to plan execution of work.
