This dynamic food production organization is experiencing significant growth and is seeking an Engineering Compliance and Reliability Lead to enhance their team.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the facility adheres to all legal, regulatory, health and safety, and food quality standards.

A meticulous approach and experience in food production are essential for success in this position.

Each day will present new challenges as you assist in the daily oversight of the engineering team while contributing to the financial management of the department.

You will report directly to the Chief Engineer and collaborate closely with them to ensure site compliance.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Compliance and Reliability Lead:


• Ensure that the engineering department and facility comply with all legal, regulatory, health & safety, and food safety requirements.

• Oversee the management of suppliers and contractors.
• Administer engineering contracts on site.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all compliance areas.
• Supervise the facility department, covering all aspects of refrigeration, steam, effluent, and water management.
• Collaborate with the team to review all planned works and preventative maintenance tasks for effectiveness, addressing health & safety, food safety, and reliability concerns.
• Actively participate in driving continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications required for this Engineering Compliance and Reliability Lead role:

• Previous experience in a food production environment.
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering.

A solid understanding of statutory regulations (such as the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, COSHH, DSEAR, etc.), group standards (site electrical rules, oven standards, etc.), and customer standards (BRC, M&S, etc.) is crucial.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Excellent planning and organizational capabilities.
• Financial acumen to manage various budgets.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
• Familiarity with Pirana and SAP systems.
