About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. as a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing technologies in the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and regulations, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Breakdown Response: React quickly to equipment breakdowns, communicate effectively with affected parties, and work efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns, providing feedback and suggestions for improvements, and collaborating with the team and leadership.
  • Equipment Availability: Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Team Support: Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians, and contribute to the development of the team.
  • Contractor Management: Manage contractors and ensure that work is carried out to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • Multi-Skilled: Possess skills in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience: Have experience of planned preventative maintenance systems, fault finding within MHE/Automation systems, and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Qualifications: Hold a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High Voltage Switching: Have experience of high voltage switching.
  • Sortation Machines: Have experience of maintaining and configuring sortation machines.
  • Barcode Scanners: Have experience of maintaining and configuring barcode scanners.
  • Print and Apply Machines: Have experience of maintaining and configuring print and apply machines.
  • Higher Education: Hold a HNC, HND, BSc, or BEng qualification in a relevant Engineering subject.
