Job Description

P+S Personnel Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join their team in Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and optimize the end-to-end production process, ensuring efficiency and maintaining high-quality standards while meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and quality control departments to streamline operations, fostering effective communication and cooperation.
  • Implement and enforce best practices to enhance production efficiency, identifying and addressing areas for improvement proactively.
  • Effectively manage personnel, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and minimize costs, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes and contribute to the overall success of production objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership to the production team, setting clear expectations, and inspiring a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Motivate and engage team members, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability to achieve production goals.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the production environment, implementing measures to ensure the well-being of personnel and compliance with safety standards.
  • Prioritize and organize production schedules to meet deadlines, coordinating efforts across teams to deliver on time.
  • Address challenges and obstacles in the production process promptly, implementing solutions to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate production performance, making data-driven decisions to achieve optimal results.
  • Provide regular reports on production metrics, analysing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for increased efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and their application to production processes.
  • Proven experience in a production management or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of SAP would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with production management software and tools, especially SAP.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Experience implementing safety measures and protocols.

Working Hours
