Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

Volunteer Engagement Coordinator - North West of England & West Midlands
At Barnardo's, our charity shops serve as more than mere retail spaces; they are vibrant hubs where individuals can discover distinctive items, champion sustainable fashion and homeware, donate cherished belongings, or lend a hand as volunteers, all while contributing to our mission of supporting children, young people, and families.
Volunteers play a crucial role in our operations at Barnardo's. Annually, approximately 17,000 individuals dedicate around 1.8 million hours to assist Barnardo's in enhancing the lives of children, young people, and families. The essential work we undertake would not be feasible without the commitment, expertise, and enthusiasm of volunteers throughout the organization. Consequently, Barnardo's has initiated a significant national campaign aimed at attracting more volunteers to ensure the success of our charity shops across the UK.
This position is integral to the effectiveness of the campaign. As a member of the Retail Operations team, the successful applicant will aid in the efficient and timely recruitment of volunteers.
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will deliver comprehensive, proactive, and professional volunteer recruitment support services to the Retail Operations team, thereby contributing to the realization of the Retail & Trading Strategic objectives and the Barnardo's Volunteering Strategy.
This role is one of four available across the UK. Please ensure you apply to the vacancy that corresponds to your area.
Due to the high volume of applications for certain positions, this advertisement may close prior to the indicated closing date.
Compensation & Benefits
We recognize that our team members go above and beyond in fulfilling our essential work, fueled by their passion and dedication to Barnardo's. We also understand that we can only achieve our goals and secure better outcomes for more children through the talent, hard work, and creativity of our staff.
For these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to compensation and benefits, ensuring it is equitable, appealing, and progressive, which was implemented in April 2023. This represents a positive shift for the charity and is part of our overarching Strategy. It will help us support our team members in thriving and growing in their careers at Barnardo's, ultimately providing clear pathways for advancement in both career and compensation.
While the complete pay band and salary range are advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band, ensuring that pay increments are available to reward our team members annually based on their contributions to excellence and alignment with our values and behaviors. More details on Barnardo's compensation framework can be found upon application.
