**Data Protection Leadership Role**

Entain is a leading company in the sports betting and gaming industry, and we're looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Protection Counsel to join our team.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Report data breaches to regulatory authorities, liaising with the ICO and DPC, and conducting internal assessments to determine whether an incident is reportable.
  • Participate in the Data Breach Management Process and work closely with Information Security to investigate incidents and provide solutions.
  • Engage with industry forums, such as Single Customer View, and stay up-to-date on regulatory changes, including Affordability and Financial Vulnerability measures.
  • Provide strategic advice on complex data projects, including facial recognition, AI, and sophisticated algorithms.
  • Support M&A transactions involving personal data, completing due diligence assessments and evaluating marketing and database plans for integration and disintegration efforts.
  • Support complex data sharing initiatives, such as Single Customer View and Affordability, working with the Chief Privacy Officer to define strategy and create privacy documentation.
  • Experience with US privacy laws, supporting our joint venture on US privacy queries and building the privacy program with a focus on Colorado, California, Virginia, and understanding data infrastructure for data mapping purposes.
  • Attend Executive and Senior Leadership Committees, covering privacy for retail, online, legal, and compliance, and presenting data privacy updates.
  • Support the AI Governance Program at Entain and provide strategic advice to the Governance team.

**Requirements:**

  • Extensive experience in-house or at a law firm.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of data protection laws, particularly the UK General Data Protection Regulation and other international data protection legislation.
  • Degree-level qualified, such as Legal, Privacy, or IT/Comms degree with a compliance add-on.
  • Commercial contract experience.
  • Ability to fulfill responsibilities with no supervision while maintaining effective communication with the Privacy Lawyers' and other DPOs.
