Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy and Data Protection

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in a dedicated privacy and data protection role. As a key member of our legal team, you will work closely with our commercial, product, engineering, and information security teams to provide legal support for the development, launch, management, and expansion of innovative payment products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on privacy and data protection matters across our different geographies, with the support of external counsel where necessary.
  • Partner with our commercial, product, engineering, and information security teams to understand their needs and help find creative solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide legal support for the development, launch, management, and expansion of innovative payment products and services, embedding a privacy by design approach.
  • Advise key business functions on new regulatory developments and the privacy implications of emerging technologies, including advising on the effective governance of artificial intelligence.
  • Support relationships with data privacy regulators.
  • Support the implementation of our privacy governance framework, including internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with global privacy requirements.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor/lawyer (5+ PQE) with strong post-qualification experience either in-house or in private practice.
  • Significant experience in a dedicated privacy and data protection role.
  • Ability to handle and deliver on numerous high-priority projects concurrently.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented focus to solving legal challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate and explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
