Role Overview
As a Senior Relationship Manager for Depositary Services, you will be responsible for managing relationships with allocated depositary clients. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our depositary services, supporting client growth, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a robust control environment aligned with corporate standards and industry best practices for depositary services.
- Deliver day-to-day UK Depositary Services functions in accordance with established best practices.
- Ensure all Depositary obligations are successfully met by establishing, monitoring, and refining applicable procedures and controls.
- Provide exceptional client support on a daily basis, assisting with regulatory changes impacting clients and managing client-led change initiatives. Maintain high quality client deliverables and adherence to service level agreements.
- Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and optimize Northern Trust's commercial positioning within the UK Depositary Services industry.
- Support due diligence and on-site inspections of relevant third parties, operating independently of other Northern Trust group entities.
- Collaborate effectively as a key member of a client-facing team.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the pan-European Depositary Operations function.
- Monitor the regulatory environment and assess its impact on our business operations.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong understanding of UK Funds operating models and fund administration arrangements.
- Familiarity with key UK regulations applicable to the fund and depositary banking industry.
- Knowledge of various portfolio investment strategies and asset classes.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- A collaborative team player who embodies Northern Trust's values and cultural synergies.
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
- Previous experience in a similar function within a custodian bank, securities industry, or investment management firm offering the full fund administration suite of services is highly desirable.
