The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a highly motivated Payments Supervision Specialist to join our Market Interventions – Payments (MIP) Department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing over 1300 authorized e-money institutions and payment services providers without banking authorization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth knowledge on payments industry regulations, supervision of payments firms, and emerging risks. This includes areas like financial resilience, wind-down planning, customer fund safeguarding, financial crime prevention, and protection of vulnerable customers.
  • Support the department's diverse tasks, including firm cases, multi-firm projects, ad-hoc queries, and industry initiatives.
  • Offer valuable insights to management on how industry and policy developments influence supervisory approaches, contributing to the development of the payments portfolio strategy.
  • Lead specific supervisory themes and act as the primary contact for related queries and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage with external entities like the Payments System Regulator, Bank of England, HM Treasury, and payments trade bodies.
  • Develop and deliver training on technical subjects for the department, sharing your expertise and enhancing team capabilities.
